WORKSHOP AND THEORY PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS

* all the workshops are held from September, 7th to September, 9th; they last for three days from 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m

Special effect on film workshop (mentor: Luka Hrgović)

What are special effects on film, when are they necessary and how to create them? Animator Luka Hrgović will answer all those questions to workshop participants and prepare them for their independent creation of visual magic.

“Seven world problems – seven solutions: IYMS” workshop (mentor: Antonio Britvar)

Antonio Britvar is a member of Youth Committee of International Youth Media Summit and will host a workshop dedicated to one of the seven world issues (poverty, environment, women rights, discrimination, empowering of youth, violence and health) and will try to find the solution to the problem together with workshop participants. Participants will have a chance to see one of the films created at IYMS and to see the importance of film in humane and humanitarian actions.

Filmary (mentor: Dalija Dozet)

Filmary is something between film, diary and everyday life – at the edge where reality becomes fiction and fiction becomes our reality. How can we become our own inspiration and how our world and our surroundings can become our creative inspiration? Bring your cell phones because you won’t be taking selfies but you will be creating films about yourself and with yourself! Workshop mentor is film director Dalija Dozet.

One frame film workshop (mentor: Zoran Šmid)

How to easily make a movie in one shot, which is definitely not an easy task, and what to pay special attention to and what for is it anyways, all of those answers will be given by Zoran Šmid, contributor to AV activities at Youth Center.

Playing with genres workshop (mentors: Elena Veličkovska Nikolovska and Darko Nikolovski)

Mixing of genres and types while creating genre-type hybrids are main characteristics of film postmodernism and what’s it like when genres and types are mixed and how aware of it are we and is there even a pure genre - all of this will be taught by Elena Veličkovska Nikolovska and Darko Nikolovski from Giffoni Macedonia Youth Film Festival.

* IMPORTANT! The workshop is held on Wednesday and Thursday, September, 7th-8th! On September 9th participants are obligated to participate in the „Pack&Pitch“ program held by Relativity School.

Film story workshop (mentor: Ana Opačić)

What makes a good film scenario, how to write and how this difficult and demanding job is actually important for a good film, you can find out at inspiring workshop by Ana Opačić, previous winner of Youth Film Festival and Four River Film Festival.

Workshop is held in co-operation with Giffoni Macedonia Youth Film Festival.

Film wound, body paint and visual effects workshop (mentors: Staša Bodypaint, Tom Vujnović i Denis Ostrošić)

Day by day, the students will master the different techniques useful to the film set: body paint, visual effects and film wound, exchanging lecturers in a row: body painter Stasa Bodypaint, visual effects master Tom Vujnović and media educator Denis Ostrošić.

Film poster design workshop (mentors: Šesnić&Turković)

Creation of film poster is an art for itself and a key moment within promotion and film distribution. Participants of this workshop will learn what elements are necessary for a full function of a poster and what it’s like to work on its design, all of this will be taught by two experts from Šesnić&Turković team.

“Film in the world of video games” workshop (mentor: Leo Vitasović)

Videogames are becoming more and more important in the world of AV and this is why we decided to let them have an important place in educational program. Workshop will be held by young director, former participant of the Festival, Leo Vitasović.

Acting workshop (mentor: Sanja Milardović)

What is acting and what are acting techniques and what is the difference between theatre and film acting, are just some of the questions troubling future actors and directors. All answers will be given at these workshops held by actress Sanja Milardović.

What is film criticism and what is its influence on film production and how important it actually is and how to become a film critic? You can learn all that at the workshop held by film critic Diana Nenadić.
