21st Youth Film Festival and 9th Four River Film Festival main competition selected!
Young talents of Croatian film production walked a significant yellow carpet again this year. As it was announced, Croatian Film Association is greeting a warm summer since early morning by announcing films that made it into competitive program of 21st Youth film festival and 9th Four River Film Festival.
Selectors in charge of Youth Film Festival and Four River Film Festival did an amazing job choosing between record breaking 594 applied films! Professor Ana Đordić told us that selection meeting was held for hours and hours because number of applied films was, as she said “through the roof”. Even though selectors were more or less on the same page about their choices, it was extremely hard to decide between all those great films and choose those that will fit into 450 minutes of program time. Most submitted films were fiction films, while selectors were surprised by the length of films, some even going over 20 minutes! Besides by Ana, films were chosen until the last minute by film critic Boško Picula and Stipe Radić. They chose 74 films that will come to Karlovac. For Youth Film Festival, 162 films were submitted while 43 films were selected for the competition. Four River Film Festival attracted 432 films from all over the world while 31 of them were selected for the main program. Selected films are coming from Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, Greece, Georgia, Hong Kong, Ireland, South Korea, Kosovo, Macedonia, Norway, Germany, USA, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain and Great Britain.
