21st Youth Film Festival and 9th Four River Film Festival are starting!
Tuesday, September 6th is the beginning of 21st Youth Film Festival and 9th Four River Film Festival in Karlovac! Grand opening starts at 9 p.m. at the Zorin Dom Theatre. Youth Film Festival and Four River will offer unforgettable film experience to all film lovers and all visitors will watch screenings on the water wall. For the first time in Karlovac, we will have the chance to see this light show with three dimensional projections.
We are presenting Project Tandem at 6 p.m.! Bicycle for riding in pairs, so called tandem is the work of young Bojan Biga. Even though blind since the age of two, Bojan recently successfully finished tandem, creating it with the help of his father, using two old bicycles and some new part. Besides presentation of bicycle, we will show a short film about Bojan and his working process. Our guests will be Bojan and Miomir Rajević from Media Education Center.
Famous host and imitator Luka Bulić will host the official opening ceremony at 9pm in Zorin Dom, after which there will be a Karlovac premiere of „Dragon woman“ by Ivana Sasević. Film offers inspiring story about finding and discovering, tells a story about all of us that often forget how much we are worth and how much we can do. One of the heroes is former volunteer of the Festival and FRFF – Magdalena from Karlovac. Mayor of Karlovac Damir Jelić will traditionally be present at the opening ceremony. After the ceremony, band 4head will play during the musical program at the Papa's Bar.
Youth Film Festival is a festival of films created by high school students or youth aging 14 to 20 and this year (together with its international version Four River Film Festival) it is in the sign of irreplaceable transportation – bicycle! With 594 submitted films from all over the world, 4000 viewers and 150 international guests, Festival and FRFF are traditionally hit destination for high school film. Besides watching films, film lovers will spend 5 unforgettable days learning as well.
Organizers of the Festival and FRFF are Croatian Film Association and Kinoklub Karlovac while sponsors are Croatian Audiovisual Center, Croatian Association of Technical Culture, City of Karlovac, Karlovac County and City of Karlovac Tourism Board. Technical support was given by the Karlovac Grammar School and Karlovac Technical Culture Association. Festival and FRFF are ending on Saturday, September 10th.
