Fritz Lang and the motives from his film M - Eine Stadt sucht
einen Mörder from 1931 remain an inexhaustible well of research
for the multimedia artist Ivan Faktor, and he is returning
to it once again with his complex work in progress project
Kangaroo Court.
Envisioned as a reconstruction of the shot from the film in
which people from Berlin underground illegally try the psychopathic
murderer of little girls, in its first phase, realized in
June of 2005, the project was materialized in the form of
a photograph.
Berlin underworld was revived in the ruins of a former Zagreb
factory with the help of two hundred anonymous and "renown"
mutes.
Three cameramen vigilantly followed the process of their costumed
retro-initiation into the Langian universe.
"The trial" goes on...
Awards: Grand Prix of the 39th Zagreb salon
