50-minute documentary Storms Always Return Home is about a writer Robert Medjurecan, who, in 1991, as a member of the 102nd brigade, was a direct participant (and witness) to one of the most severe defeats of the Croatian army in the Croatian War For Independence. The tragic event which took lives of about 70 young people in one day, ocurred on December 13, 1991 on the Kupa river banks near the village of Sisinec. After demobilization, Medjurecan wrote a novel titled War Decorations, First Owner, Fair Price in which, among other things, he evoked his deeply traumatic war experiences, and afterwards in the afore mentioned documentary, in length elaborated real reasons for the loss of such a big number of lives in that operation. |
