MEMBERS OF THE CINEMA CLUB KARLOVAC PRESENTED FOUR RIVER FILM FESTIVAL IN BERLIN
Members of the Cinema Club Karlovac Anita Stepić and Ksenija Sanković stayed recently at REC Jugendmedien Film Festival in Berlin. Although Berlin is world-famous for the Berlinale, its International Film Festival, REC is an important film festival in which shows films from authors between 6 and 27 years of age. The Open International Competition seeks to promote understanding and tolerance among young people, provide an interesting incentive to educators and teachers and enables them to make contacts.

Thus, Anita and Ksenija socialized with young people from different parts of Europe for 4 days, promoted the work of Cinema Club Karlovac and Youth Film Festival and Four River Film Festival, and one of the direct results of this visit was the agreement on hosting young animators from the Czech Republic who should come to the festivals in June next year and hold an animation videogames workshop.

Representatives of film festivals and organizations from Norway, Germany, Wales, Italy and Belgium who are members of the European Youth Cinema Network / YCN, an independent network that deals with the development of filmmaking and connecs festivals and local communities in which they operate also took part at the festival in Berlin. YCN was founded during Four River Film Festival in Karlovac last year and in October of this year there was the Network's annual conference in Dubrovnik. Meetings like this in Berlin allow continuous cooperation of Network members and on this occasion Anita and Ksenija together with foreign colleagues worked on plans for the organization of the next conference, common rewarding system for young filmmakers and further networking activities.
