RED DUST — THE REFLECTION OF A DECADE
Boasting three feature films and numerous
domestic and international awards, Zrinko Ogresta has made
a name for himself as the most successful Croatian director
of the 1990s, and his latest film Red Dust can be
considered a prime example of mainstream cinema. »Realistically«
motivated and mildly critical (liberal), this crime melodrama
about a »loser« from Zagreb’s suburbs is a continuation
of Ogresta’s previous film Washed Out. In addition
to bearing witness to the director’s maturing, it, in a
certain way, summarizes one of the directions of Croatian
cinema of the 1990s. Diana Nenadić |
