Second book published by the Croatian Society of Film Critics consists of criticism, reviews and commentaries by the film critic Tomislav Kurelec who, although employed at the most powerful medium of television, belongs to the proponents of good taste not too known to the wider public. The book is a collection of texts about Croatian film published in Vijenac, Kolo, Variety International Film Guide, Danas, and other magazines, while the foreword was written by the critic Dario Markovic and the author himself. Sharing his interests between organizational problems of Croatian cinema and the appreciation of art works, Kurelec wrote about festivals, trends and individual films in order to help Croatian cinema and affirm the values to which all benevolent critics and viewers strive. It is only too bad that important social commitment to preserving cultural elements in the program of national television has prevented the author to write more pages of worthwhile criticism about Croatian film. For, he is one of few critics who approach our film systematically and with a sense of responsibility.
