19th Youth Film Festival and 7th Four River Film Festival are moving to the four rivers of Karlovac

One of the largest factories of  film is about to open its doors. 19th Youth Film Festival and 7th Four River Film Festival start in just a week. In previous weeks we have tried to bring the concept of this yellow film event closer to you, now is the time to find out about the evening program, which includes one  thing only - fun and relaxation on the four rivers of Karlovac.

Thus, on June 17 Kupa river will, at least for a moment, transform itself into a film stage where the official opening of the festival will take place accompanied by a DJ welcoming party which will signify the beginning of film madness.

On the second night our film troupe will move to the banks of river Korana where we will have a swim and immediately after that we will meet Maida Srabović in the program Once laureates of the festival, and today?. Her achievements - Lady Akra Šišmiš and Permanent hire will introduce the evening program to the audience. Except for Maida’s film, the gathered crowd will have the opportunity to watch the film “Going our way” from the Slovenian director Miha Hočevar.

This masterpiece of filmmaking, which many consider to be the most popular Slovenian film follows a group of scouts in their unforgettable adventure. Together with the number of viewers, the award for best actor which Jurij Zrnec took home, talks best of the quality of this film. Besides that, the film was nominated in two categories for the Bitter Leaf MTV Movie Awards - Best Picture and Best Actor. If you thought that organizers did not think of the football fever, you are wrong. After the screening, biggest football fans will be able to watch the game and in this way welcome the third festival day, when the evening program moves to river Dobra.

This coldest Karlovac river will at 21:30 once again host film lovers who will spend the evening with the program Once laureates of the festival, which will this time be enriched by an animator and visual artist Luka Hrgović. Film called Epopeja o bureku will be screened, a work from his younger days, with which he won an award at the Festival exactly ten years ago. Today's confirmation of his quality work, film Zetstapo will be screened as well. After that, all eyes will be focused on the documentary Disconnected by Melody Gilbert, a kind of research project that talks about life without computers and follows the lives of three students who eventually begin to understand and deal with things that do not involve computers - those that have been neglected for a long time.

The last evening of the festival will be held on the riverbank of Mrežnica, but in a somewhat festive tone. Authors of the best films in the competition program of the festival will receive their prizes there, and this evening will also serve as an opportunity to talk to them. We don’t want the evening to stay in an official tone so you will be able to see a dance film that will be shown under the starry sky on a large movie screen and it will prepare everyone for a dancing night with the DJ.
