This paper is dedicated to the performative
aspects of Ivan Ladislav Galeta's artistic work.
Even though there are not that many pieces in his
opus which could be considered performances in the
narrow sense of the term, the author believes that
each Galeta's work is filled with his presence, be it
through the artist's public interpretation of his work
or through his "expanded" performance of that work
in front of an audience, for which the author lists
various examples. This paper gives special focus to
Galeta's educational activities and his teaching style,
inseparable as they are from his artistic work. His
classes were performances in their own way, similar
to the practice of expanded cinema.
