REACTIONS
On The Port of Šibenik, War Trophy in Film Cans, and Destroying of Croatian Film Stock
Polemical response
to Dejan Kosanović’s article from the latest issue, which
was already written in answer to Enes Midžić’s previous
article Coronation of Serbian King and The Port of Šibenik. In
this response, the special attention is given to Kosanović’s
statement that Croatian film stock, which is archived in
Yugoslav Film Archive in Belgrade, was war trophy taken
after the defeat of the Axis in World War Two. This article
brings new evidences, which proves that the film stock
— with many newsreels and even the original stock of the
first Croatian feature film Lisinski (1944) — were
actually taken by state security police to Belgrade between
1958 and 1962 (thus, 13 years after WW2), and that after
police examination it was supposed to be returned to federal
Croatian police security office, which never happened. Enes Midžić |
