#06 Accidental Life
Ante Peterlić
Two young clerks, amateur rowers, are living their ordinary lives, trying to squeeze out more excitement and pleasure. The more introverted and sensitive of the two falls in love with an attractive woman...
The only film by Croatian film historian and theoretician Ante Peterlić is an existential study of a void and alienated living, with skillfully mastered visual editing and atmosphere, accompanied by a sound cast dominated by the usually excellent Ivo Serdar. Almost unnoticed at the time and scarcely screened since, Peterlić's film still managed, over time, to acquire a special status among dedicated film lovers, and with good reason.
